What there is to see and not miss at the next edition of M&O, hosted as always in the French capital. The City of Lights turns its spotlight on: news, sustainability, hospitality and the future of design.
December is always the month of countdowns: Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and, above all, the design fairs that start again in January. The first on the calendar, among those not to be missed, is Maison&Objet 2024 which will be held from 18 to 22 January at the Parc des Expositions in Paris Nord Villepinte. This will be a very special edition: not only for the many new features on the program – including two new thematic areas – but (above all) because in this edition the French fair will celebrate its first 30 years of activity and success. Here is our guide with everything you need to know to visit the fair and a preview so you don’t miss the best.
THEME AND NEWS 2024
“TECH EDEN” is the new leitmotif that will animate the next edition, with reinvented spaces oriented towards retail, the world of hospitality and the residential sector.. Places where nature, presented in a new mix of nature and technology, will be a constant common thread in the name of an innovative concept of sustainability for possible horizons in the future.

As with every edition, a creative person is chosen to dedicate them a special area of the fair. For January 2024 the new Designer of the Year will be Mathieu Lehanneur, who will present a special outdoor installation with the theme “New Autonomy”. While in The rising talent awards space you can discover 7 emerging designers with the “Tech&Savoir-faire” exhibition.

Another novelty of the next appointment, among the 15 sectors and 600 brands there are two new sections. One is called Hospitality Lab and presents ideas for creating unique and special hospitality spaces, in an era in which a place is no longer defined only by its function, but also by its multifunctional character. The other new space is called The well-being experience, dedicated to the latest wellness products to experiment and discover, in collaboration with Fashion Snoops X La Senoigraphe.

Finally, two installations that investigate upcoming trends. One is dedicated to retail with François Delclaux who will present “Supersoft” x BETC Design, an exhibition that analyzes new materials and various merchandising solutions, with creative workshops also scheduled. The other is dedicated to dècor with Elizabeth Leriche who, through the exhibition “About new territories“, analyzes the colors and materials of the future of interiors.

To complete the rich program proposed at the fair, from 17 to 22 January it will be possible to visit ateliers and showrooms in the city that participate in the M&O in the city initiative. In this case it is a B-to-B event designed for professionals, which will bring together in a single circuit the 100 places that make up the Parisian furniture ecosystem of excellence: decorators, interior designers, galleries, large maisons and exceptional craftsmen.
