This second season, created in collaboration with AD and Stoopen & Meeûs, is an immersive and refined exhibition, where design becomes a shared language, an interweaving of shapes, surfaces and atmospheres.

The exhibition, conceived as a precious jewel box, leads visitors through spaces harmonized by a common thread, a sophisticated showcase that celebrates the excellence of contemporary craftsmanship. Each space conveys a strong visual and conceptual coherence, a snapshot of an ever-evolving style, transforming the discovery of tomorrow’s design into an emotional and contemplative experience.

Maison&Objet J25 – CURATIO ©Piet-Albert Goethals

THE CURATORIAL GAZE

The concept takes shape from the sensibility of Thomas Haarmann, a German designer and interior architect based in Antwerp. His aesthetic is the result of an international journey that spans London, Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur. Self-taught, he combines a sophisticated formal brutality with the legacy of a family background linked to jewelry, giving life to a personal and recognizable language. Artistic director for Domani and Van Rossum, Haarmann designs residential and commercial projects as well as furniture collections that push the boundaries of traditional design. His intuitive approach transforms every idea into a sensory experience, inviting a slow and conscious enjoyment of shapes.

Thomas Haarmann ©Piet-Albert Goethals

ARCHITECTURE ON DISPLAY

The exhibition space is conceived as a continuum between coordinated spaces and an exhibition gallery, where each exhibit interacts with the essential scenography and its surroundings, constructing a coherent and formative narrative. Sixty carefully selected artists create a whole where competition leads the way to inspiration and creative exchange. The works presented, often created in limited editions, are born from the use of exceptional or deliberately raw materials, shaped into organic and refined volumes. What emerges is a landscape in which interiors, restaurants, hotel lobbies, and retail outlets are not simply functional contexts, but become settings for visual narratives capable of captivating, questioning, and stimulating the gaze.

Among the most anticipated names are Van Rossum, with his solid oak furniture handcrafted in Holland since 1978; Zieta and his functional art sculptures designed for extraordinary spaces; and Verter Turroni, who invites us to contemplate fragments of a world without horizons, suspended and poetic. These are joined by Imperfettolab, where each element takes on an autonomous artistic dimension, and Atelier Vierkant, which shapes nature in clay through manual skill imbued with material elegance.

Maison&Objet J25 – CURATIO ©Piet-Albert Goethals

Alongside them, a careful selection of ateliers and designers (including A.D.U., Anna Torfs, Objects, Atelier Contour, Casegoods, Fresh. The philosophy of harmony and encounter transforms each thematic micro-space into a moment of discovery, where materials, shapes, and atmospheres blend naturally. This vision fits coherently with the theme chosen by Maison&Objet for the January 2026 edition, “Past Reveals Future,” which invites us to interpret design as a living organism, shaped by memory and projected towards new expressive possibilities.

At the heart of the event, we remember Harry Nuriev, Designer of the Year, who will bring his manifesto, “Transformism,” to explore the evolution of style through a visual narrative that unites craftsmanship, technology, and imagination. In this scenario, every presence and intuition becomes a bridge between what has been and what will be, giving shape to a sensibility that is both functional and poetic.
