Fattobene, the platform for the research and valorisation of Italian objects that have existed for generations, presents an assortment of everyday classics, on sale in the Triennale Milano store until 31 December, which aims to be a tribute to the words with which Bruno Munari defines all those objects worthy of receiving the “Golden Compass to unknowns”:<\/p>\n

“Even before the term design was used to define the production of objects that respond to necessary functions, such objects were already in production and continue to be produced. They are objects of daily use in homes and workplaces and people buy them because they don’t follow fashions, they don’t have problems with class symbols, they are well designed objects and it doesn’t matter by whom. This is real design<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

Coccoina candle, Balma Capoduri & c. Voghera (Pavia), since 1924<\/strong>
\nWith its unmistakable almond scent, Coccoina is a true Italian icon. Even today it is produced following the original recipe. For the company’s hundredth anniversary, Coccoina also becomes a candle. Almond scented, of course. \u20ac 6 – coccoina.it<\/a><\/p>\n

Notebook, Grafiche Tassotti, Bassano del Grappa (Vicenza), since 1957<\/strong>
\nThe patterns of these wonderful notebooks come from the Remondini Historical Archive (a family of world-famous 18th century illustrators). In 1957, Giorgio Tassotti rediscovered this iconographic heritage and, since then, has revived it in the Bassano del Grappa printing house. \u20ac 6 – tassotti.it<\/a><\/p>\n

Clothes rack, Industrie Toscanini, Borgosesia (Vercelli), since 1920<\/strong>
\nToscanini’s success began in the 1950s, when the company started producing coat hangers for La Rinascente. Pennelli Cinghiale, Cicognara (Mantua), since 1945<\/strong>
\nWe are at the end of the Second World War, when Alfredo Boldrini chooses to switch from the production of brooms to that of brushes. Thus was born a brand capable of evoking strength and resistance starting from its name. Marvis toothpaste, Ludovico Martelli, Florence, since 1950<\/strong>
\nWith the economic boom, many pharmacies are launching new toothpastes in tubes. Among these, Marvis makes his appearance. Leone clasps, Dell’Era Giuseppe, Annone Brianza (Lecco), from 1850<\/strong>

Who is Fattobene<\/strong>
\nConceived and created in 2015 by Anna Lagorio (journalist) and Alex Carnevali (photographer), the project investigates Italy from North to South, in search of all those traditional masterpieces that have existed for generations. Fattobene is a tribute to good design and an invitation to discover that even the simplest object has its share of wonder.<\/p>\n
