In the midst of the Christmas period, while the last gifts are being bought and deciding how to decorate the holiday table, the world of design is already looking ahead to next year, more precisely in January, when the fairs dedicated to interior, hospitality and contract resume . Certainly, one of the first events to mark on the diary is the new edition of Maison&Objet <\/strong>in Paris, among the leaders in the style calendar and an unmissable event to discover all the latest news proposed by companies and designer studios.<\/p>\n

The event will be held from 16 to 20 January 2025 <\/strong>at the Parc des Expositions in Paris Nord Villepinte<\/strong>, while the events scattered around the city of Maison&Objet in the city <\/strong>will begin as early as the 15th. The house in order will be in Paris to observe, discover and select all the best that will be presented by the 2,329 exhibitors expected (600 of which are new), with a careful and critical eye not only on the novelties but also on the quality of the collections. To celebrate the centenary of the publication of the Surrealist Manifesto, the theme of the 2025 edition of M&O is Sur\/Reality<\/strong>: a tribute to the provocative and stimulating spirit of the artistic movement of the time, in the name of limitless creativity.<\/span> The intent is to ignite curiosity about the future of interior design and lifestyle, providing inspirational cues and stylistic surprises through new solutions, capable of daring and surprising visitors, enthusiasts and sector professionals with the same playful and experimental attitude of the Surrealist masters.<\/p>\n

Fay Toogood, the artist chosen as Designer of the Year | \u00a9 Federico Ciamei<\/em>

Designer of the year <\/strong>for the 2025 edition – an artist to whom an entire space is dedicated within the fair – will be Fay Toogood<\/strong>: a multifaceted creative and designer much courted by companies, who loves to express her creativity ranging from sculpture to design, passing through fashion and drawing. At the fair he will present “WOMANIFESTO!<\/strong>“, an installation inspired by the Sur\/Reality theme with a surrealist setting: a journey to discover the creative processes that guide the artist every time he approaches a new project.<\/p>\n

Another “experience”, in this case the discovery of Korean design, will be had by visiting the The rising talent awards<\/strong> space. As per the regulations, also in this edition all the participants are under 35 and have opened their studios in the last five years. It will be an opportunity to discover new creative languages, which blend minimalist lines and personal reinterpretations of Korean craftsmanship in a contemporary key.<\/p>\n

A novelty will undoubtedly be the focus on the world of hospitality,<\/strong> a sector that is increasingly the subject of studies and insights not only by designers and creatives, but also by sociologists and trend setters. A multi-pronged research that highlights the growing demand for increasingly customizable and custom made formulas, designed on the personal needs of each individual customer.<\/p>\n

The section within the fair called \u201cWhat’s New?<\/strong>\u201d instead, it will be the stage where hundreds of brands will exhibit their new products divided into three macro-sectors, each curated by a different creative. The area What’s New? in Decor<\/strong> (Hall 7) will be curated in this edition by Elizabeth Leriche<\/strong>, who will present her selection of products in a sort of sprawling labyrinth, with immersive, dreamlike paths and two installations: The Room of Dreams<\/strong> and Fantastic Forest<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What’s New? In Hospitality<\/strong> (Hall 6) designed by Julien Sebban<\/strong>, will interpret this topic – as already mentioned under the spotlight of the public and designers – with the Hotel Uchronia<\/strong> project. In a 200 m2 space the creative will present his idea of the hotel of the future, with environments designed down to the smallest detail in the name of a new concept of increasingly welcoming, comfortable and tailor-made hospitality.<\/p>\n

Designed as a concept store, the third area of What’s New? In Retail<\/strong> (Hall 3 and 4) will see the signature of Fran\u00e7ois Delclaux<\/strong>. A selection of products from exhibitors will be offered under four themes – Curiosity Cabinet<\/strong>, Daydreams & Pleasure<\/strong>, Illusions<\/strong>, Natureculture<\/strong> – all inspired by the general one of 2025 linked to the Surrealist leitmotif. Furthermore, there will be three animated showcases divided into the Sustainable<\/strong>, Museums<\/strong> and French Made<\/strong> groups. Don’t miss the Plug & Play Merch<\/strong> section with turnkey solutions for retailers, this time inspired by fast food imagined as a design bar.<\/p>\n

To complete the rich program proposed by M&O at the fair, from the 15th to the 20th it will be possible to visit ateliers and showrooms in the streets of Paris<\/strong> that participate in the Maison&Objet in the city <\/strong><\/a>initiative. In a single large circuit, decorators, art galleries, interior designers, historic maisons and specialized artisans will open their spaces showing all the best of their production, which ranges from textiles to ceramics and furniture.<\/p>\n
