Innovation, cutting-edge, surprising ideas: that’s what the Isola<\/strong> district offers, even this year, for Milan Design Week 2024<\/strong> (April 15-21, 2024), with a rich program of events, exhibitions, and installations, thanks to the participation of theIsola Design Festival 2024<\/strong> \u2013 to discover the full program: isola.design<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 an iconic event in the district focused on a vibrant, young, and international community, of which our magazine La casa in ordine is a media partner.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the neighborhood, behind Porta Garibaldi Station<\/strong> and Piazza Gae Aulenti<\/strong>, you can visit both events and exhibitions outside of the Isola Design Festival and participate in activities organized by the festival itself, around the theme “This Future is Currently Unavailable,” which will be organized in three main hubs: Stecca 3.0<\/strong>, Lampo Milano<\/strong>, and WAO PL7<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

WHAT TO SEE<\/strong><\/p>\n

by ARAKAWAGRIP<\/strong> \u2013 exhibition<\/span>
\nArakawa & Co. is a Japanese company internationally famous for developing the Arakawa Grip locking mechanism and, during MDW 2024, will present the “by arakawagrip” exhibition consisting of three installations within the Zona K space. The installations will be: “Golden Library,” allowing visitors to browse the volume celebrating the company’s 50 years in a refined space hung by arakawa hooks. “New Normal New Standard \u2013 Japanese Maison” features six Japanese designers ready to ideate and propose the company’s future. Finally, “Composition”: six young designers from Tokyo tasked with creating kinetic and floating sculptures using Arakawa Grip.<\/p>\n

\nEvery day, 150 international students will participate in a series of activities on the theme of “dialogue,” collaborating and discussing cross-disciplinary design projects, masterclasses, talks, and performances led by renowned professionals in the fields of design, fashion, sustainability, and innovation. This environment will be a lively meeting point to foster dialogue and stimulate meaningful discussions among diverse communities and the involved youth.<\/p>\n

\nDuring Milan Design Week 2024, Italamp and Capital Collection open the doors of their new showroom born from their partnership: gioiAtelier, a stone’s throw from Gae Aulenti, where visitors can admire the bestseller and iconic collections of the brands.<\/p>\n

\nFrom April 16 to 21, Lombardia Square will host the Everest Pyramid, a unique 17x17x11m installation that will be open to the public before being transferred to Nepal, to cover the Observatory Pyramid Laboratory located on Everest.<\/p>\n

\n“Flow through the colors” is a sensory journey that, through five thematic zones characterized by settings, colors, and scents, allows visitors to experience the unique beauty of water in its most spectacular forms. The areas that can be visited will be The Red which will transport you to Tanzania, The Pink at Lake Hiller in Australia, The Blue at the Blue Hole in Belize, The Black at Lake Kelimutu in Indonesia and, finally, The Yellow at Lake Rotorua in New Zealand.<\/p>\n
