From simple walk-in wardrobe to elegant multifunctional piece of furniture, let’s take a look at a piece which celebrates efficiency, eclecticism, and style.
Innovation, functionality, and design: the Camerino collection by Caccaro is all this and much more. Though it may be simple to design a walk-in wardrobe, experimenting with materials and forms, it is not so easy to create a spacious and freestanding wardrobe which can be placed anywhere (even in the middle of an open space).
The double-sided version of Camerino introduces the bedroom, and Boiserie transforms its back into a compact working station with illuminated panels.

Specialized in freely composable storage solutions for years, Caccaro presented the first Camerino model in 2013 in collaboration with the designer Sandi Renko. It was created to put a product on the market which would respond to the need of combining practicality, versatility, and design into a single storage unit.
The 2013 Camerino walk-in wardrobe by Caccaro is freestanding and does not require wall work.
The genius idea was to redesign the Cabina linear model with a U-shape, reducing its width and increasing its depth. Thanks to this solution, the new project produced a piece of furniture without the encumbrance of a hinged door, the opening limits of a sliding door, or the need for wall work.
This led to a new conception of the walk-in wardrobe, one which was finished on both the sides and back, perfect for any room (even in the center of the room), and no longer meant to be pushed into a nook or against a wall. This model achieved instant success thanks to its extreme versatility: the wardrobe not only became a storage unit, but a piece with a specific personality as well—one which gave new design possibilities to made-to-measure furniture.
The Camerino model(s) integrated with the new Freedhome System. The drawer unit calls back to the walnut of the surfaces and back wall.
And still, Caccaro did not stop there. In 2018, Camerino underwent a further transformation and was integrated into the Freedhome system. Thanks to its patented U-shaped form, it is possible to create a walk-in wardrobe with spacious shelves on all three sides, getting the most of the space and ensuring refined aesthetic continuity. The pillars expand the visuals inside, while the doors fold in on themselves to save space. T

To make the project even more functional, there is an infrared sensor which adjusts the interior lighting: in this way, the light turns on only when needed and saves energy to keep apace with contemporary sustainability. Stunning and elegant, its presence captures the eye when it is open and illuminated, but it remains a discrete element when closed.
On the left, Camerino has doors which fold on themselves and can be closed with a simple movement; on the right, Camerino’s interior shelves and dividers organize its space to create the greatest amount of versatility.
Today, ten years since its first design, Camerino by Caccaro has become even more flexible and polyfunctional thanks to its new two-sidedness. By combining its freestanding structure with the new Architype system on its rear, it becomes a genuine piece of architecture which divides and organizes the space without the need of wall work. In combination with Boiserie, the Camerino’s rear can also host the suspended units of the Wallover system, accessories, and even bed collections.
Camerino becomes a practical bookcase, sets off the home-office space, and is perfect for hosting stationary, documents, and everyday objects.
Camerino is the perfect ally in the living area as it is equipped with shelves and dividers which organize its interior.
The configurations become new and versatile: from a simple wardrobe to piece of furniture with shelves, a sideboard, the headboards of the Let’space and Bishape beds, the Groove shelf, and even a desk. Over a decade, this innovative project has transformed the classic walk-in wardrobe into a new eclectic piece of furniture with tons of possibilities for customization and a refined and contemporary look.
In the center of the room, placed against the wall, or set between two Freedhome modules, Camerino combines spaciousness, functionality, and stunning style.
