Seasonal décor – Christmas is a whisper

The house slowly lights up: gentle colors, natural materials, and a cozy atmosphere that warms more than any sparkle.

Do you also want a Christmas that doesn’t shout, but envelops? Soft lights, calm shades, soft materials? If the magic of Christmas is just a whisper to you, here are plenty of ideas for recreating a cozy atmosphere, warmed by a few carefully chosen objects. The new seasonal décor elevates elegance while toning down the tones. It does so above all through carefully designed light points, whether they are pendant lamps, small glows diffused in strategic corners, or smart lighting capable of creating exciting scenography. It does this through lanterns that seem to have come straight from a fairy tale, decorations to hang not only on the tree but on doorknobs or chairs, to spread joy and smiles wherever you look.

Through refined garlands, which you can also use as centerpieces. Through extraordinary Christmas trees, with or without paper canopies, made only of trunk and branches, but fashioned by an artist whose hands create poetry. The magic of Christmas spreads throughout every room, thanks also to soft, artfully embroidered cushions, warm, textured blankets to cuddle with or leave on the sofa for guests, and a little reindeer welcoming guests into the garden. Dim the lights: let the party begin!

1 – SUSPENDED SPHERES

It seems the balls that usually decorate Christmas trees have chosen another place to shine: the ceiling! Lodes Random Sospensione Cluster, the lightweight blown glass lamp by Crotti Lampadari, is composed of three spherical diffusers of different sizes that form a simple yet lively entity. Each one is equipped with an LED light source, which provides a warm light. Grouped in clusters, the Random lamps create poetic compositions with multiple ceiling roses, which the different finishes enrich with character and originality. They are available in clear glass, frosted white, smoked chrome, bronze, gold, rose gold and in the light gradation of 2700 K or 3000 K.

2 – TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR

Dramatic and romantic, the Stella chandelier by Reflex owes its name to the hanging stars in clear borosilicate glass or colored glass: blue, alexandrite, amber, yellow, green, ruby, white, and black. They have a white or black painted glass support and an internal LED light. Furthermore, depending on the firmament you want to recreate above your head, it is possible to create customized versions in size, length, and shape.

3 – LA CASA DELLE FATE

You can place it on the floor near the Christmas tree, you can create special corners in the home, use it as an ornament, a centerpiece, or to illuminate a windowsill: the Teca casetta by EDG Enzo De Gasperi is made of glass, houses 50 LEDs, and creates an evocative atmosphere wherever it is placed. Battery powered.

4 – LIGHT POINTS EVERYWHERE

One of the secrets to creating the ideal atmosphere is to pay great attention to the lighting points. Don’t wait for holidays or even nighttime: turn them on in the afternoon, when the sky begins to darken, to create magical chiaroscuro effects. Fill your home with lanterns, classic freestanding ones that let candlelight shine, like the Winter Lights set by L’Oca Nera, made of metal crafted to resemble ice lace. Or, hang surprising decorations here and there, like Eminza’s element consisting of a cord with a sphere attached to the end: when turned off, it looks like a simple decorative ball, but it lights up with warm lights thanks to the LEDs it houses.

5 – GARLANDS IN & OUT

The wreath is one of the symbols of Christmas: it is hung outside, on the front door, as a gesture of good wishes and welcome, but also inside, as an invitation to serenity and hospitality and to add a touch of warmth and light to the living room. You can choose a traditional one, perhaps decorated with cheerful bells that ring when each guest arrives, like the one from Jardin Enchante, featuring delicate synthetic greenery intertwined with soft LED lights and a rich satin ribbon. Or you can opt for the Ebyin garland by Loberon, made of transparent and sparkling acrylic beads that recall a landscape of ice and snow. It comes with a hook for hanging on walls or window handles, but you can also use it as a centerpiece, surrounding a group of candles.

6 – LIKE IN A FAIRY TALE

The fir tree, the Nutcracker, and the stars are some of the subjects that best evoke fairy tales and stories related to Christmas: you look at them and you start dreaming. This will happen to you, for example, if you use the metal and resin stocking holders inspired by the enchanting costumes, ethereal sets, and graceful choreography of the New York City Ballet’s “The Nutcracker.” This is an exclusive collection from Anthropologie, bringing to life festive characters that find their enchanting place above the fireplace, as they should (but also on shelves, furniture and windowsills!).

And it will happen to you if you hang on the tree, or wherever you want to bring light and magic, the commemorative holiday set, which continues the iconic tradition of Swarovski Annual Edition Decorations. It features three clear crystal stars, crafted with a total of 570 facets (190 for each star), inspired by the serenity of the night sky. Each is suspended from a green grosgrain ribbon with champagne gold-plated details, while the large star also features “2025” engraved on the tag.

7 – PORTE BONHEUR CUSHIONS

Kissing under the mistletoe, as we know, is a gesture that celebrates love and harmony. But since we need these beautiful emotions more and more, hanging mistletoe is no longer enough. Better to surround yourself with it, for example, by finding it on the most auspicious Christmas cushions around. Like the one from H&M in velvet with mistletoe embroidered with glitter threads on the front and a zip on one side. Or like the one from Coincasa, studded with beads that create a motif of berries and holly. The pillowcase is removable, with internal padding included and zip closure.

8 – SOFT BLANKETS

One of the best things about the holiday season is that you have more time to take care of yourself, to rest, to slow down. Sitting in your favorite chair reading a book and enjoying a hot chocolate, stretching out on the couch to watch a movie, or curling up under the covers of your bed while it snows outside—it’s priceless.

These moments are made even more special by soft, textured blankets and throws, which you can sink into and be wrapped up in. Like the Winter Surprise throw by Frati Home in merino boiled wool with a textured and ultra-soft texture, like the Moose throw by LisolaStore in soft boiled wool, with a cute moose motif dressed in a Christmas sweater, or like the soft velvet blanket by Once Milano, designed to transform any bed into a true refuge of elegance and comfort. The velvet side, available in burgundy, green, antique pink and gold, contrasts with the natural linen underside, creating a perfect balance between warmth and craftsmanship.

9 – EXTRAORDINARY TREES

Everyone has the traditional tree, which is a fir, with its needles and its characteristic green. But there are infinite variations of the quintessential symbol of Christmas, elaborate, baroque, festive, or minimal, inspiring tranquility, as simple as they are extraordinary in terms of materials and design.

Among many, we have chosen two unusual and poetic ones: the fir tree from Zara Home, made of 3D origami-effect paper with soft lighting inside, and a tree that is first and foremost a work of art, then a vase. It’s called Bosco, part of the Cartocci collection, and is made of paper clay, a mixture of clay and paper fibers. Paola Paronetto, the sculptor who created it, conceived it as a vase, but its forms evoke the trees of a forest, solid and reassuring, with their imperfect branches reaching toward the sky. The great thing is that you can fill it with flowers, Christmas decorations, or small LEDs: it will always be the centerpiece of the room, at any time and in any season.

10 – LIGHTS AND MUSIC

The lights and music we choose to live our spaces say a lot about us and influence our mood. This is even more true during the holidays, when we are more attentive to everything that arouses emotions. If you want to see the effect smart lighting can have on your outdoor space (or even inside your home), try Twinkly decorations.

In the photo below, the garden is illuminated by several Twinkly Strings, light chains with smart or high-definition LEDs compatible with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and voice assistants, to offer intuitive management and spectacular scenography. In the foreground you can admire the Twinkly Net Lights, nets ideal for decorating hedges, fences, and balconies. Each LED can be controlled via the Twinkly app, which allows you to choose colors, effects and animations. Finally, our gaze turns to the reindeer, the Twinkly Reindeers with smart RGB LEDs to create plays of light, colors and animated effects that can be customized via the Twinkly app. They’re made from weather-resistant materials, but we bet you’ll want to install them indoors to amplify the magic.
