Good morning and welcome,
Starting today and for the next Fridays, I’ll be here to welcome you and share this week’s news.
But first, I have something to say. After more than ten years of online publishing, there’s a reflection that can no longer remain in the background: describing the home by limiting itself to what is “beautiful” is no longer enough.
La casa in ordine has always been about spaces, objects, and solutions capable of making living more harmonious and welcoming. A coherent, thoughtful, and recognizable narrative. But today I feel the need to add another layer: our point of view. One that arises from experience, continuous observation, and daily interaction with companies, designers, declared trends, and real choices.
Why pursue what is presented as essential, when we can instead share a common criterion? Why limit ourselves to recording trends, when we have the tools to read them, filter them, and—when necessary—distance ourselves from them?
This isn’t about polemics or opposition. Rather, it’s about a critical, informed perspective. It’s time to step out of a comfort zone where everything is beautiful by definition; it’s time to break the silence if something isn’t convincing. Talking about your home also means choosing what’s worth bringing to the attention of our readers. And what isn’t.
A recent example? Cloud Dancer as the color of 2026. A legitimate suggestion, certainly. But personally, I continue to feel closer to bold colors like blue or red in their deepest shades, like burgundy, or those versions softened by a hint of white that transform intensity into delicacy, all the way to the more restrained pastel tones, like pink.
I’ll leave you with a comment I heard recently; it made me smile and I hope it inspires the same feeling in you: “It looks like a white who’s had a sleepless night.”
So, let’s start from here: with a clearer, more selective, more personal perspective.
Happy reading and happy holidays.
Anna
