Good food, family, friends, and a sunny afternoon is the perfect recipe for spending time outdoors. And, to make these moments even more special, there is nothing better than having a great cookout with the “right” tools.
The barbecue is the perfect device for those who love cooking outdoors. However, you must choose a high-performing one which is capable of becoming the centerpiece of your convivial outdoor atmosphere. Oreste from Palazzetti is a complete cooking system and a workstation which, with a single flame, can heat both the barbecue and grill, providing a one-of-a-kind experience in the BBQ world.
How it works
This model includes a barbecue and oven together: the flame generated by the combustion is capable of heating both at the same moment. The wood gets placed in a compartment (combustion chamber), locked in by a door, and set beneath the lava stone grill which is capable of heating up in just 10-12 minutes, making it perfect for cooking meat, fish, vegetables, and cheeses, even without seasoning it.
The Oreste’s design makes it fit for any situation thanks to its refined lines. Plus, its high-performance makes it a must-have for BBQ lovers.
Meanwhile, to heat up the oven, it is possible to choose between two alternatives. The first one takes advantage of the smoke generated by the combustion in the compartment below the grill, which has been specifically designed to reach around 280° in 25/40 minutes. The second one involves the direct firing of the flame within the oven. This increases the temperature up to 380° for cooking with a direct flame to make bread or pizza, for example.
The oven is entirely covered in Thermofix®, a fireproof material capable of withstanding high temperatures and absorbing heat in order to use it even after the flame has been put out. This makes it fit for slow cooking without a direct flame. To ensure the highest performance it includes a monitoring system for the combustion air and smoke coming out of the compartment to control the temperature and cooking times.
Oreste has a two-in-one barbecue and oven. The workstation is highly functional and easy to use, guaranteeing an optimal outdoor cooking experience.
Where to put it
It can be placed anywhere, both outdoors and under a porch. In the latter case, it is recommended to make a flue for the smoke stack in order to release the fumes outside of the porch, even to the side, if you don’t want to create an insulated passage through the porch itself. The smoke stack must not come into contact with flammables.
How to use it
It is particularly simple and intuitive to use, but it is also important to respect safety standards by, for example, not touching heated areas. It is better to ignite the flame with ecological lighter cubes and not use combustible liquids. Moreover, the closure of the combustion chamber with the door closed allows for entirely safe use, even for less-experienced cooks.
It is also important to pay close attention while cooking, considering the power of the oven and its capacity (up to two pizzas). The oven is equipped with a thermometer which indicates the internal temperature. Lastly, it is possible to even make partial use of the workstation. In fact, if you only use the grill, the fumes are directly channeled into the smoke stack and not into the oven thanks to a by-pass lever.
Cleaning and maintenance
After each use, to ensure correct preservation of the barbecue, it is necessary to clean the combustion chamber. If it has been used as an oven in a direct way, take out the ashes from the inside with a brush.
Before each use, however, the grill should be scraped to eliminate possible residue and cleaned with an oil-soaked cloth. During cooking, fat residue is collected on the right side where it is necessary to place a metal container and empty it as needed. Even the drainage channel should be cleaned with a brush for improved hygiene and safety.
